A CLINICAL STUDY ON HAND TUMORS



Abstract
There are three general principles of care in this special field of hand tumors. Fi s, ea correct diagnosis is mandatory for the proper preservation of life and/or limb. Secun: careful separation of benign from malignant tumors should be clear ; the management J tumors should not produce more disability than the natural history of the benign grow. This and the most important, is secondary to the primary objective of adequate tumor rest .
Authors reviewed 106 cases of the hand tumor patients for 5 years from September Authors obtained the results as follows.
There are 106 cases in total ; Ganglion-64, Neuroma-13, Enchondroma-7, Giant cr-" l of tendon sheath-6, Hemangioma-4, A-V Malformation-3, Glomus tumor-3,lipoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Neurofibroma, Epidermal cyst, Lymphangicrade, and Chronic Granulontatous inflammation-1 case, respectively. Trauma is a major factor in the development of Neuroma, therefore preventive must be taken in cases of acute traumatic hand injury. A knowledge of the frequency, location and clinical characteristics of tumors of is invaluable in diagnosis.
Tumors of the hand are best treated by surgical measures.
The microscope or Lupe magnification after tourniquet application is the mosr reliable methyl for the complete excision of the hand tumor, and for the average trauma to the adjacent structures such as neuro-vascular bundles.
